According to StudioBinder, there are three techniques to creating suspense and I plan to use them in the preliminary task 2 short film opening: 

1. Choosing the instrument
- string
- traditional- synthesizer 
- interesting instruments- waterphone, the Theramin (sweet 1950s sounds), the Ondes Martenot and the Apprehension Engine
-use strings to raise the heartbeat

2. Raise the tempo, raise the heartbeat

3. Use crescendo to represent the scene musically 
- increase music intensity until it reaches the climax 
- use crescendo to turn tension into revulsion
